Warren County Habitat for Humanity is developing plans for its next home construction. Habitat will soon start taking applications from prospective “partner families”. A partner family is a family which meets the prerequisites for Habitat home ownership. Habitat selects partner families based on a critical housing need, an ability to pay a mortgage, and a willingness to perform work with Habitat teams in a true partnership. For more information on qualifications for homeownership, please refer to this web page.
The time between application as a partner family and moving into a new home varies, but is usually longer than one year. The timeframe is based on availability of a proper home location, funds to build the home, availability of volunteer labor, special needs of the family, and local municipality requirements, among other considerations.
If you feel that your family qualifies for homeownership, and you’d like to be considered as a partner family, please call our office at (908) 835-1300 to register. You will then be contacted and a plan will be developed to share more information about the process and requirements.
