Volunteer to Build
The construction team gathers at an active job site on Thursdays and Saturdays of the build season. All interested parties aged 16 or older are encouraged to learn more about the preparations and tasks required to safely and competently build homes for Habitat partner families. For other information and answers to frequently asked questions, please click here to visit our build volunteer page.
On occasion, we at Warren County Habitat for Humanity are asked by businesses large and small, churches, universities and other groups to provide a dedicated build session experience for their members. Where possible, we are happy to provide those participants with the benefits of teamwork and sense of accomplishment they seek. If your organization is interested in pursuing a dedicated group volunteer experience, please refer to our group volunteer page for guidelines, requirements, and contacts.
Most of the positions staffed at Habitat are volunteer positions. Additionally, from time to time, a critical need arises requiring a paid position. In all cases, we seek to fill open positions with qualified, appropriately skilled individuals as quickly as possible. Key positions are identified on this page. If you have a desire to fill one of these roles, please contact our office at (908) 835-1300.
We always have a need for volunteers with administrative skills, such as web development, public speaking, data administration, volunteer recruitment, graphic design, meal coordination and newsletter editing. Click here for a more complete list of functions or to complete a volunteer survey.
The ReStore is a retail outlet that fills a critical community need for low-cost household and construction items, while also operating as the primary fundraiser for Habitat builds. The ReStore requires the whole spectrum of positions, people, processes and competencies that any retail store needs. Click here for a list of positions and activities that are needed at the ReStore.
Join a Committee
When people think of Habitat volunteers, the image of a weekend warrior framing a wall at a construction site typically comes to mind. While that is obviously a core undertaking, there are other critical operational needs performed by our committees. New talent, expertise, and passion are essential to the teams’ execution and growth. If you are interested in contributing your time, skills and energy in one of these committees, click here to review the opportunities.
Hope in the Hills of Warren
Hope in the Hills of Warren campaigns include cleanup, painting, weatherizing, and small repairs and are generally performed on specific, planned days throughout the year. Planning for the 2019 campaign is underway. For more information, please link to the HHW volunteer page.
Be a Fundraiser
The high cost of building even a modest home in Warren County, and the large need for those housing services, compel us to maintain a constant and continuous focus on raising the funds to make those life-changing homes a reality. Social media and crowd-based fundraising provide a relatively new and effective opportunity to meet this demand. If you have a desire to apply your creativity and passion in this area, please click here for more information about this exciting and potentially game-changing approach.
