Habitat ReStores are home improvement stores that accept small and large donations of new or gently used furniture, appliances, housewares, building materials and more. Proceeds from the sales of these items help Habitat’s work in your community and around the world.

How do I donate goods to the WCHFH Habitat ReStore?

Habitat ReStore staff and volunteers make the donation process as simple as possible. You can donate goods in person during the hours listed. Follow the signs to drive around to the back of the building. Our staff will help unload your vehicle and will let you know which of your items are acceptable.

The Habitat ReStore carries new and gently used refrigerators, stoves, ranges, dishwashers, microwaves, exhaust hoods, washers, dryers, and other used home appliances. We maintain high standards for our donations. Most used appliances at the ReStore are less than five years old and in great condition.



WHAT  TO CONSIDER  WHEN  SHOPPING
We recommend the following steps before purchasing a used appliance at the ReStore:

  • Measure the space where you plan to put the appliance

  • Check to see if you need any fixtures to support your new appliance (for example: bolts or tiles)


We carry a range of new and used building materials and hardware, including paint, paint accessories, tools, electrical hardware, and more!

WHAT WE CARRY



  • Tools: New and gently used hand and power tools can be found. This includes hammers, table saws, drills, sanders, lawnmowers, gardening tools and more.

  • Hardware: To make sure the ReStore is a one-stop-shop, we supplement our used building materials with new hardware, such as nails, screws, drill bits, and more.

  • Electrical: We also sell new and used electrical conduits, switch and outlet plates, plugs, extension cords, and other electrical hardware.


STICK TO A BUDGET WITH USED BUILDING MATERIALS


Renovations projects can cost a fortune if you’re not careful. Buying materials, fixtures, lighting, doorswindows, cabinets, and anything else you can from the ReStore will help you save on brand-name home improvement necessities.
The ReStore carries new and gently used cabinets of all kinds, including filing cabinets, kitchen cabinet sets, pantry cabinets, bathroom vanities, medicine cabinets, and garage cabinets.


USED CABINETS – MATERIALS


Looking for wood that matches your current decor or trim? We regularly receive traditional and European styles in solid oak, cherry, pine, alder, maple, and mahogany cabinets, as well as MDF cabinets.

TIPS FOR FIXING UP USED CABINETS


Sometimes a great set of used cabinets are missing something that would make them a perfect fit for your home. Rather than searching endlessly for a set that doesn’t exist, consider fixing the cabinets up yourself. That way you can save on your purchase and end up with cabinets that look exactly how you want them to.

We recommend the following steps before purchasing a used cabinet set at the ReStore:

  • Measure the space where you will place the cabinets

  • Consider other materials you might need (for example: screws, bolts, drill)

The Habitat ReStore carries new and gently used doors made of wood, vinyl, fiberglass doors, and dual pane and windows, all of which are in great condition.

INTERIOR AND EXTERIOR DOORS


We offer interior and exterior doors in styles such as dutch, solid, hollow, paneled, slab, french, and sliding.


USED WINDOWS


Windows vary in sizes and styles including single-hung, double-hung, sliding, casement, awning, garden, and bay windows.

WHAT TO CONSIDER WHEN SHOPPING


We recommend the following steps before purchasing used doors or windows at the ReStore:

  • Measure the width and height of the doorway or window opening

  • Consider other materials you might need (for example: screws, hinges)

ReStore carries different types of new and gently used flooring materials such as ceramic, porcelain, natural stone, mosaic tiles, carpet rolls, carpet squares, area rugs, laminate flooring, hardwood flooring, and various trim and underlayment. All our laminate and tile flooring is new. Carpet tiles and area rugs may come used, but are only accepted if they are in great condition.



WHAT TO CONSIDER WHEN SHOPPING


We recommend the following steps before purchasing flooring at the ReStore:

  • Measure the dimensions of the room you intend to re-floor

  • Consider other materials you will need, such as underlayment, grout, nails, or a nail gun



Our Habitat for Humanity ReStores have a large selection of new and gently used furniture for homes and offices. We only accept furniture in great condition, and it’s often from brand-name retailers and suppliers who are simply overstocked.

TIPS FOR BUYING SECOND HAND FURNISHINGS


Whether you’re moving, remodeling, or redecorating for the season – consider taking on a DIY project to turn something slightly worn or bruised, into a centerpiece that emanates your creative light.
The Habitat ReStore carries new and gently used dishes, glasses, utensils, vases and other houseware items. We maintain high standards for our donations. Most items a the ReStore are less than five years old and in great condition.


The Habitat ReStore carries new and gently used lighting, including fixtures, lamps, and ceiling fans, as well as new light bulbs.

INTERIOR AND EXTERIOR FIXTURES


We offer a variety of interior and exterior light fixtures such as pendant, chandeliers, recessed, flush mount, semi-flush, wall-mount, sconce, table lamps, floor lamps, shop lights, and flashlights.


CEILING FANS


A used ceiling fan can offer just as much air flow as a new one that costs twice as much. If you’re installing a ceiling fan or changing one out, we also offer used building materials and electrical supplies that will help you finish the project.

LIGHT BULBS


If you’re shopping for a new fixture, don’t forget to buy bulbs! We carry fluorescent, LED,  and incandescent bulbs at a range of wattages.

The Habitat ReStore carries new and gently used plumbing fixtures and fittings that can help you save money on your bathroom remodel and other home improvement projects.
  • Bathtubs – cast iron, fiberglass, porcelain, and plastic tubs

  • Sinks – stainless steel and porcelain, kitchen and bathroom sinks

  • Toilets – low flow, two-piece, one-piece, and bidet toilets

  • Faucets – bathroom and kitchen

  • Tub and Shower Fixtures – heads, arms, and spouts

  • Shower Curtains

Volunteer ReStore Positions:

General:

All forms of retail store activities are performed, including loading and unloading, merchandise refurbishment and staging, cashier, floor rep, and maintenance/janitorial. Volunteers require no special skills and may fit their hours to their own schedule. Walk-ins are welcome!

Truck Driver position:

Volunteers are needed to drive the ReStore truck to donor homes to pick up contributed items and transport them to the ReStore. A valid driver’s license is required (CDL not required). A “clean” driving record is required for the past three years. The vehicle is an automatic box truck. Driver must be able to lift and load up to fifty pounds.
