Warren County Habitat for Humanity Receives $36,000 Grant from Lowe’s for Critical Home Repairs

Washington, NJ  – Warren County Habitat for Humanity received a generous grant of $36,000 from Lowe’s, as a part of their ongoing partnership with Habitat for Humanity affiliates across the globe. The grant has funded six Critical Home Repair projects within the past calendar year in Warren County, NJ. The organization has repaired three roofs, a porch, a deck, and reconstructed an inoperative kitchen as a part of this program.

The mission of Warren County Habitat for Humanity’s Critical Home Repair is to keep existing homeowners in their homes safely and affordably. The Critical Home Repair Program seeks to provide low – moderate income Warren County homeowners the ability to make necessary repairs to their residence. Homes must be owner-occupied, and owners must be current on property taxes and mortgage payments.

Programs like this simply would not be possible without the financial support from organizations like Lowe’s. Warren County Habitat’s mission is to build homes, communities, and hope, and by repairing homes where the health and safety of the residents is a concern, the organization can serve even more individuals in the area. This allows Warren County Habitat to widen their impact and provide more hope and assistance to those who need it.

Lowe’s and Habitat began their partnership in 2003. Since then, Lowe’s has supported many of the global housing nonprofit’s efforts, including the Women Build Program and Habitat’s Neighborhood Revitalization program. Lowe’s has also supported Habitat’s Cost of Home national advocacy campaign and sponsored local Habitat builds and employee volunteer days, in addition to providing affiliate grants and donated products. Lowe’s commitment through 2022 brought the company’s total contributions to Habitat to more than $84 million.
